Terraforma Architecture worked with a Snohomish family to create an “off the grid” home at Falcon Cove on the North Oregon coast. Passive solar, wind, and geothermal energy strategies are being incorporated into the “Orca” motif. Highly insulated biodegradable concrete forms are being used for the shell, as well as spray foam insulation in the roof framing. Radiant heating will be in the slab, plus an operable ventilation system for cooling.
